Veggie Spread

homemade veggie spread

Ingredients: 

1/3 cup shredded cucumber

1/3 cup shredded cabbage

1/3 cup shredded carrots

1 cup milk

1tbsp whole wheat flour

1 tbspn cream cheese (optional)

salt to taste

 

Method:

Take milk in a saucepan and add the flour to it. Cook it on medium heat till the

mixture starts to thicken. Add salt, cucumber, cabbage, carrots and cheese.

Cook it till the mixture thickens and reach spreading consistency. It would be done in a 

minute or two. Allow it to cool.

 

Note:

Use as a spread on whole wheat pitas, toasted breads.

This receipe is good for 2yrs plus.


Broccoli Stew

Broccoli stew

Ingredients:

1 cup broccoli florets

1/4 onion cubed

salt to taste

milk 1/3 cup (optional)

 

Method:

Take a thick bottomed pan and add onion, broccloli florets and 1 cup of water and let it cook.

It would be done in about 10-12 mins. Let it cool a bit and crush it using an imersion hand blender.

Add a pinch of salt to taste. To make it more souplike add milk and mix it properly.

 

Note:

This receipe is good for 1.5 yrs plus.

Sweet Potato Mash

Ingredients:

2 sweet potatoes peeled and diced

pinch of salt

pinch of cinnamon

pinch of nutmeg

Method:

Place sweet potatoes in a pot with water.

Cover the vessel and bring it to boil.

Cook about 15-20 minutes until tender.

Add the above ingredients and mash until smooth.

Note:

This receipe is good for 1.5 yrs plus.
